Mitsubishi 1600HC 720p DLP Home Theater Projector NOCHTI.com

Mitsubishi 1600HC projector. just a little drop shelf I threw together. Its a little bulky but it was free for me! I framed the bare wall with Oak trim that matches the projector mount and the speaker tops and bottoms. With the right paint the drywall looks fantastic. If your on a tight budget (who isnt these days) its hard to beat 30$ for a screen. I dont see the point in spending a ton of money on a screen unless you do it right and get an acoustically transparent scree so you can put your speakers behind it. As it should be. Just like we should all have 90000$ Digital Projection 3D Titans to go with our 14" acoustically transpearent screens. This is a great little system that takes up very little space in my little condo. I really like this little projector and at 74" diagonal and a seating distance of 10 feet its a pretty damn nice picture. I'm convinced that 90% of people would not see a difference between this 720p image and a 1080p image. It certainly does the trick and with the smallish size at 1800 lumens I have bright (im guessing well over 35L/ft) poppy image that keeps me awake and tricks my eyes into seeing a good black level on images with a mix of darks and lights. Only on the very dark full screen shots do your pupils have time to relax enough to the point of the image seeming washed out. even the darkest movies like "fight club" are very watchable. I prefer a trade off of a smaller screen for a brighter image. unless you have amazing blacks with a D-ila ...
